Hey all just put together my new comp (below) and on boot the error detecting leds stop on sata and there is a continuous short beeps in quick succession and the error code stops on a3 (not in manual). When I hit del to enter bios shortly before going in it says "No physical disk". When I am in the bios all drives show up so its not like they are not being detected. I thought it might be the hot swap bays in my df 85 so I plugged it in directly but no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My PC:

CPU i7 2600K
Motherboard Asus P8P67 WS Revolution
Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600mhz
Graphics Card EVGA SC GTX 580 SLI
Hard Drive WD 1.5GB Caviar Black x 2
Power Supply Corsair AX850
Case Antec Dark Fleet 85

A3 is IDE detect in the manual (Deluxe)
There are no native IDE ports on the mobo
If you have IDE (emulation) set in bios sata you need IDE drivers (MS)
If you have AHCI set then you need Intel .inf driver installed at install from USB stick
(like 10.1.0.1008)
Once installed as IDE you can change to AHCI, but its more involved to go from AHCI once installed back to IDE
Then disable JMicron and Marvel in bios until you get things going

If you are a newb builder you have made a poor choice of time to enter the scene. These mobo are not wham bam, thank you mam' - heh

I managed to get rid of the disk error (disabled marvell sata controller) but Im still getting dbl beep. I can boot / install windows and do everything but the beeping continues. All cables etc are hooked up properly and im now getting AA (apic os boot, so its fine). No idea whats is causing this tried w 1 stick of ram and i get same thing.

If anyone cares it ended up being sata power cables hooked up to empty fleetswaps in df 85. Pretty weird.

I've been thinking about this a bit, and it kind of makes sense actually
In order for the inserted HDD to be bootable or even detected in the bios for being part of the boot order, it would have to be included in the boot order choices. With the P67 EZ page you have icons that represent each TYPE of device, and for HDD there is only two - MBR and UEFI. Doesnt matter if you have 6 HDD, you wont have 6 icons - you will have to go to advanced and boot page to BBS HDD priorities to SELECT order of boot for that type of device.

Lets say you have 4 WDC HDD, only 1 bootable
You make the order as you wish in BBS priorities with boot drive first and then in main boot page you pick DVD as first boot device, then first WDC boot drive port as second boot device. Then the fleetswap will show up as either a HDD boot choice,in priorities, or "other" something in main boot order. So all you have to do is disable it wherever it shows. In other words keep evrything avail for bootorder EXCEPT that one.

In your case its even simpler - it would appear you have the fleetswap ahead of your boot drive in boot order. If you "normal" boot drive is first, the bios will not go any further looking for other devices. But I am not 100% sure, because I dont know how the fleetswap is represented in the bios. It may be considered an "external". A camera pic of your F8 choices at boot would tell me.

Edit: If you have 1503 bios or higher, you can insert a USB stick and hit F12 and you will take bios screenshot
