ASUS P8P67 recommendation

of the 5-6 different models of this board i need help choosing one, ill be using a 2600k cpu, 4 gb of ddr 1600, 1 dvd drive 1 hard drive, 1 570 gtx video card, the pc will be used for gaming only and i dont plan on oc ing but i want to have the option in case i do down the road

If you do not intend on crossfire or sli then the less expensive board is probably fine (btw biostar has one for $129 that folks have had good success with). If you would like cross fire or sli in the future then you probably want the pro.

The only other major option (given your system description) to consider is raid.

In general there has been quite a few issues (mostly related to the bios) with the asus board they include wake from hibernation; handling of ssd and similar. I think (from what've i've read) most of these are solvable but you might have to tweak the default settings. Anyways as I do not have an Asus board what I wrote is mostly hersey from various forums and newegg reviews (prior to recall). Many people have had success. As to your specific question probably the 'plain' p8p67 which runs around $160 is fine (I think there was another thread on this board that mention issues with the LE model. The models with "-M" are micro atx form factor.

Let me stress again that the above is based off what I've read and I do not actually own the product (I've been waiting for a different board that is not yet available due to the recall).

... more expensive ones use NF200 chips for more PCIe lanes, or has dual NICs, or "military grade" build, or heatsinks over whole board
