I just received a 2nd hand Asus P8H67-M Pro (rev. 1.04). How do you guys think it will react if I fit it with a 3570k?
I got the motherboard from a guy on the web. He used it with a i3 23XX (Sandy Bridge) so I am pretty sure it will work with a 2500k. He doesnt remember the version of the BIOS.
Anyway, the reason why I prefer a 3570k is because the H67-chipset does not allow overclocking. If it did, I would probably get a 2500k and OC. But I am going to run the CPU, for the time being at least, at stock clocks. Maybe in the autumn or winter I'll upgrade for a newer motherboard. Preferably something designed with Ivy Bridge in mind.
I could also get a 2600k, which are a bit more expensive, but not my much, at my favourite store, but I am mainly just gonna use this computer for gaming, so the extra threads/cache probably wont do anything.
Do you guys have any advice?
