Asus P7P55D-E Deluxe - Memory

Sorry but I am an older newbe...

New build with Asus P7P55D-E Deluxe, Core i7 860.

Looked up Ausus QVL and most of the specs are for sets of three where as the board only has 4 slots and is a Duel Channel not Tri Channel.

Want to select solid memory with low voltage, and CL yet have a limited budget.

I am not sure how importatnt XMP ready is, the board does support it.

Also, does 1333 Mhz naturally work better than 1600 Mhz?

Any tried and true suggestions?

If you are not sure and cannot afford to take a risk then the tried and true method is to buy ram off the "Memory Support List". I am not sure about the 1333 vs 1600 question though. Just compare specs and prices from the ram on that list. Here is the page with your particular MB on it.
