Asus p6x58D Premium owners question abour dram LED

For all you Asus p6x58D premium owners can you please tell me if you dram led turns red when you boot up and shut down. As soon as I boot the DRAM LED lights up and then goes off and stays off the whole time the computer is on. Then When I shut down the DRAM LED lights up again and turns off when it turns off. I was just curious to see if thats what its suppose to be doing?
