My P6X58D Premium arrived this morning. I have found a few peeps with questions about this board. If you post them here, I will try and address them over the next few days. I will build my new system probably on Thursday or late tonight. I can also post some pics if there is something particular you might want to see.

Just a few thoughts, I do not see this as a super duper upgrade for me. But, the USB 3.0 and Sata 6gb will be kinda cool to have.

I actually have a question Will I see a performance increase by using my 2 TORQX in raid0 using the Sata 6gb? (currently in Raid0 on Sata 3gb)

I'll post a question. The general consensus is that the expansion slot layout won't allow for the use of the x1 slots when running in Crossfire. Do you feel this board's expansion slots are bunched together more than the average mobo? While I'm sure people are right that the use of the x1 slots would be restricted, I was thinking that's a problem that wouldn't be unique to the p6x58D.

Generally speaking, I'll be interested to hear you views on this board. I'm planning on purchasing it tomorrow, in fact, so the more details you care to share, the better!

There is more then enough room to a 1x slot to be used. I will post a pick for you in a few minutes. No, the slots are not to close together. I mean, yea, close, but no more then the average. I have YET to find any problems with this board.

I just OCed on air I7 920 to 3.9 (stable but a bit hot). I did this with changing maybe 5 values. The temps are a bit high, but meh, breaking this chip only lets me build a new comp, heh. The OC bios is pretty cool. The reset switches make things so nice.

So far my only gripe (and I am the gripe monster, do not take me out to eat, heh) is that it only has 2 onboard USB sockets. This is normal for most boards, but once you have a card reader, 4 USB ports on the front and then the included x1 slot USB/firewire card, your way over the limit.

I'm actually off to Micro Center to place my order on this mobo right now. :) I still have a few other components on order so it'll be a bit before the build is ready, but this baby is going to be my platform of choice!

They are 6.0 and NO, I have not. I was a bit concerned about raid on those.

They are actually SATA III ports, which is 6 Gbps.

I built my new system last night with this board. So far its rock solid. The first system build I've had in a few years where I had really zero issues pop up.

I tried using my Kingston 40GB SSD on one of the SATA3 ports but it was not detected. Works fine on one of the normal ports, so can't say anything about those yet.

What settings did you change for the OC? I haven't messed with it yet but I'll be trying for 4ghz tonight.

I will take a pic RIGHT now of my OC settings and you will probhably find some errors and some suggestions for me. BUT, it is stable after 2 hour prime95.

I am concerned about Turbo, do we keep it on? Anyways, be right back with my pic.

Temps are fine with my new Corsair H50 modded just a nudge. But I am sure there are some things i can do to help this OC and probably get a lot more. I have not even seen 70c yet even with this OC. My main concern is my 1333 memory running at less then that.

At 199x20, memory at 1600 but just 9-9-9-24 for right now.
Vcore - 1.26
PLL - 1.80
QPI - 1.268
IOH - 1.18
DRAM - 1.64

Temp maxes around 73, idles around 45. LinX stable getting 58 GFlops so its a good OC.

Thanks a ton for sharing your experiences with this MB. Its one of the two I am considering for a new build and its great to see how its working out for someone else. I hope you keep sharing as things progress for you.

All gadgety things aside, this board is just fun to have as well. Expensive, mind you, but still, the best I have ever owned. Will probably be going BACK to Nvidia for the graphics cards though and 3xSLI, we will have to see. I have had NO issues with this board. Post and booted first turn on, never an issue with memory. It also overclocks so dammed easy. I do have a really low 3dmark score, I know not why, but am investigating. But games run super fast and smooth. Crysis and extreme 1080p runs about 50fps. I do recommend this board.

Is there a chance you could give me your 3dmark scores, including CPU and GPU?

Thanks BTW, Nice OC for me as well. I think, but my chip is kinda acting screwy maybe in 3dmark.

I'm running my 80GB Intel 25-M G2 on the SATA III ports without any issues.

Full tower, when I bought mine, there was no mini, heh.

LOL... I'm running the HAF 932 as well, with the P6X58D, and i7 920... Small world eh?

Also, I'm seeing about the same identical overclocks as you. I was able to pull 4.0ghz even running about 1.287v but my temps were sitting too close to 80c. I'm not running liquid though, it's the Vigor Monsoon III LT. Even with the Monsoon III I feel like my temps are abnormally high, anyone else think so?

Also, I was able to get my 6GB (triple channel) Corsair TR3X6G1600C7D to 1600mhz, 7-7-7-20, 1T Command Rate completely stable on this board.

The HAF 932 looks like a case I could put on my corner desk with a HP 25" monitor. One
question, How did you get the case to handle the USB 3.0 connections as they are a different plug than the USB 2.0?

Yea, it's sitting on my desk next to my HP 30" LP3065. The USB ports are identical.
