Question to you guys running I7's
I am thinking something is wrong with realtemp 3.4 readings. I am showing 48-49c idle and the Asus program that came with the MB shows 38-39c idle. I tried resetting the HS and it shows the same. I even had the older realtemp version installed and got the now version and my idle temps went up 5c without changing anything. Oh I have a Dark Knight with push-pull (2 fans). The system is stable and will run orthos, prime, etc but load temps go to 80c. I really believe something is up with realtemp 3.4.
Anyone please help...........

I'm showing the same thing. A nearly 10 degree difference between Asus' PC Probe and Realtemp 3.4 (Realtemp showing higher).

Real Temp and Core Temp usually show close to the same. Speedfan will show up to ten degrees less.
Real Temp currently shows that it has been running for 698 hours. The hot core shows 38C minimum and 92C maximum. Over those 698 hours my ambient temps have been from low 60sF to mid 90sF. Ambient temps make a big difference!

You say load temp is 80 but you don't say with which program?

Sorry it was with realtemp. May have something to do with TJ max. My summer amb with central air is always about 74-75 deg. Funny is that Asus PC probe shows my case temp 2 deg below the core temps at idle. WOW that 92 deg was high?
my oc is 4.0g with 191x21 with 1.3vcore and Qpi 1.25v.

I have the same board and CPU. Realtemp is 7-10c higher than asus. I do believe the Asus utility is wrong and that realtemp is more accurate as asus utility tell me im idle at 30-33cc even with 30c ambients, which even with my huge NH-D14 and lapped CPU and heatsink i dont think its possible to idle at ambient on air. realtemp shows idle around 38-42 with 30c ambients which is much more possible.
