AFAIK this is the only X58 board with a n200 chip on it.

I wonder if and when we will see 3-way x16 lanes on a non-workstation board; I bet the SLI scaling is hot.

The P6T Deluxe has two 88SE6320-mediated SAS ports as well (but a Marvell 88SE6111 in place of the 88SE6121).

On a side note--and going the other way in price--Asus is about to introduce it's most basic X58 board yet, the P6T.

It actually costs less than I thought it would (never thought I'd be saying that about a $369 mobo). Now if the 30% live.com cashback were still in effect on eBay purchases, I might even consider buying the Revolution and selling my P6T Deluxe. But as it is, I'll stand until later next year, when an anemic economy should start cutting the legs out from under today's high pricing. Let's just hope that drop doesn't take too many major players with it.

No 24 GB support = epic effing fail.

I cannot understand why they are crippling these to only 2 GB per slot.
I really hope by the time i am buying i7 they have this crap fixed, or i won't be going Asus :frown:

Nice complaint considering you have a board that supports 16GB and are only using 8GB :p

Just kidding ;)

Yeah I noticed that too and it is a downfall of this board although I'm not sure how many people would actually buy 24GB of RAM to begin with.

Unless I'm mistaken, the maximum configuration using ATI cards (output to a single monitor) is: 2x 4870x2 (4 GPU's) in crossfire.
A configuration of 6 ATI GPU's per single monitor doesn't seem to be allowed.
6 nVidia GPU's may be a possibility after a few months, if rumors are correct.

I don't actually want 16 or 24 GB.

What i want is 3x4 GB.

It's already enough of a PITA to OC with four DIMMs; i should know; i've been OCing with 4x1 GB & 4x2 GB for years now.

I do not want to fight with 6 DIMMs, & i do not want less than my existing 8 GB.

3x4 GB is exactly what i'd like when i switch to i7 at least eventually, so lack of support for that annoys me greatly.

I suspect that many boards that come out only supporting 2GB or 4GB DDR3 sticks, will get a BIOS upgrade later for the 8GB and 16GB sticks. I know Micron has 8GB sticks ready and is ready with its 16GB offering as soon as the industry has some boards that will use them.. Samsung has demo'ed their 16GB DDR3 dimms too. ---- Although I can't remember if 16GB was slated for the X58 or if it was stoping at 8GB? Anyone know?

I would love even a 6DIMM*8GB config (48GB). Now if Microsoft would finally start utilizing extra memory properly. Now before you flame me, by that comment I mean - I want Vista/Win7 to use memory more effeciently, yet provide options to use massive amounts of memory if I'm lucky enough to have it. i.e. Intelligent mass storage pre-fetch cache, large indexing engine fully cached, highly compressed video's doing background pre-decompress/upscale/preparation in memory. NAS/Sync buffering etc. I respect that MS is putting some effort into making Win7 more memory effecient, I just want them to also take the approach that an enthusiast or business user may have these 24-48-128GB configurations and really speed up my system.

I like many of these motherboards you guys are discussing.. But my dream board will be dual socket i7. I haven't gone dual socket since FB-DIMMs ruined things for us, and I'm anxious to go back. :)

There may be a newly revised dual-socket i7 Mac Pro at Mac World in a few weeks....?

Happy new year!

My advise guys : just buy PS3 or XBOX360 and be happy with it, no CPU problems,GPU,memory and so on.... just plug and play.

PC for this price doesn't wort ANYMORE.

Is BAAAAAD time in the world, JOB PROBLEMS and soon wil expect price decline on all
kind of staff by 1/2 . So forget about this pricing, you gona find this $400 parts in the couple months for $100+MF10% rabate.
