All you really need are the cables for your hard drive(s) and DVD drive. Drivers you can download from ASUS and install after you install the OS. Drivers are you usually just .exe files; just double click to install.

The 1 x 2-port USB2.0 / 1-port IEEE1394 mounts in a free slot at the back of the computer and has cables that connect to the motherboard; it provides 2 extra USB ports and an extra firewire port. The 2 x Screw pillar is for mounting a fan on the northbridge.

If you don't have a manual, you can download one from ASUS.

Yep Wayward said it all very well. The Q connector just makes it easier to connect to the cables (from the case) to your switches on front and the LED's that display power and HDD use. DL the manual and you won't have any trouble. Get Windows installed, then DL the drivers from ASUS and you'll be stylin'!!

thnx to both! i still wanted the i/o shield i just cant seem to find it anwhere, so i think ill just call asus and see if theyll send one

I doubt they'll send you one for free - it won't hurt to try.. 🙂

If not, hit up fleabay. I see a lot of Asus shields being sold albeit being overpriced...

It is supposed to be an open box, not a partial box. I was going to purchase an open box P6T from newegg, but I don't know about doing that now.

Buying an open box anything from Newegg is a crap shoot at best. I've done it quite a few times and it either comes with everything or nothing, rarely in between. And it's run at about a 50/50 ratio....half came with everything, half with nothing.

That's why Newegg says to expect to get nothing but the card/board/whatever. Anything extra is gravy, at least form them.
