XtremeSystems Forums. Member PISKLINK. He posted and from other replies this seems to be a common problem. I have a CUSL2 and the whole system is so slow I don't know if it is common to ASUS. Here is his question.
Ok, found another bug or something and I'm curious if someone else experiences the same. Everytime I punch the power button to start up my comp. it starts and stops after few seconds, to boot normally after a few seconds stop. It's similar like you have set a failed OC and the system reboots twice but during second reboot bios has been reset to default during POST and you have to push F1 to get in the bios or continue boot with default settings. The only important difference with my "normal" startup is that the second time the OC settings are still present and will boot in Windows just fine. Is this a commonly known issue with bios 1102 or am I the only one having this problem?

Thinks found till know:
- OC profile program not working;
- Weird HDD lockups;
- Booting twice when turning on power.

Is anyone here familiar with these problems? This board is on my list for a summer build, I know there will be other boards and bios by then, but I am concerned about ASUS boards.

A CUSL2 i810 Socket 370? What processor do have in there? A Pentium III Tualatin ?

Asus is generally a well-regarded brand nowadays. I don't know about them back then, but I currently am using a P6T Deluxe (non-V2 so my board has the SAS controller) and I have had seen no problems similar to yours. The only time mine boots twice is when my OC fails. Asus products are top notch and I don't think you will have to worry about these problems.

Asus has been a highly regarded brand back then too.... I've been using them since '98... back in the pentium II days

Your dealing with an almost (or if not older) 7 year old Mobo. A Slow tremendously hot CPU, and almost Decade old graphics adapter. You have 2 of the most combustible HDD's in all of man kind. The fact that you have lasted this long is a miracle. I would hold any performance or Stability issues at this point against anything in your system. Asus has been a top if not "the" top mobo maker for well over a decade. They may have a bad board or two in their history (yours is not one of them) but for the most part they are the best combo of performance and stability.
