Hi,

My problem is that I recently shut down my computer via normal shutdown methods (in windows) and then moved the computer ten feet. Now I get no power when the power button is pressed.

I have the following components:
-Asus P6t deluxe V2
-G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ
-G.SKILL 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9T-3GBNQ
-Kingwin 1200 watt PSU
-Core i7 920
-Amd HD Radeon 4870x2

Symptons:
After pressing the power button (or holding) there is NO activity. There are lights on the power/reset button on the internal switches of the board.

Tried:
-Many different RAM configurations
-new CMOS battery
-cleared bios memory
-reseated power connections to board and graphics card
-power supply test successfull
-removed all other components except the essentials, PSU, CPU, GPU, CPU power, GPU power, MB power, RAM. Those are the only things connected to the board.

Please please please help me figure this out. I have worked on this for the entire day and I have nothing else that I can think of to do. And to add to that, apparently there arent very many MBs out there that fit my CPU.

I got caught off guard by this once as well. When you cut power to the board to move it, it goes in a state where the power button on the board itself needs to be pressed to turn it on.

What do you mean?

I tried using both methods to turn it on. I used the power button jumper and the onboard switch.

Isolate the issue
If it is related to power, you might have shorted something when you move 10 feet away.
please use only CPU, PSU and memory on A1/B2 and see if you can turn it on.

If not, please swap new memory, and then a new power supply, if new power supply do not resolve the issue, try to swap the processor. If new CPU, power supply and new memory and it still do not work, the motherboard is defective. Hopefully the motherboard is fine.
