Asus P6T Deluxe, did I get a V1 or V2? confused...

My P6T Deluxe board came today from zipzoomfly. No mentioning on the board, the box or manual cover of "V2", but the marvel SAS chip and the two SAS port are not there. Do I have the V1 or V2? I don't have any SAS drives so it doesn't really matter but i'm just confused. thanks

That should definitely be a V2. It dropped the SAS controller and added support for higher clocked DDR3 memory timings (2000, 1866?, etc.)

OK I am not an expert on this but there is a big difference between the P6T Deluxe and a regular P6T. The P6T Deluxe has higher quality audio codec (AD2000B), network PHY (Marvell) and capacitors compared to just a regular ASUS P6T.

I would seriously make sure you did not just get a regular P6T (Realtek Audio / PHY) as these are worth much less. Do you see any Realtek chips on your board?

No I did get the Deluxe board and not a regular P6T as there is quite a price difference. I'm just confused about the V1 and V2.

Its possible you got a very early V2 board and they handn't yet switched the packaging? This board has been our for several months now, however.

Are you sure you didn't get a P6TD Deluxe? I was under the impression that Asus had EOLed the V2 board, and replaced it with the P6TD Deluxe. The P6TD Deluxe appears to be the same board as the P6T Deluxe V2, and both are identical to the P6T Deluxe minus the SAS controller. The Deluxe with the SAS controller has been off the market for quite a while now.

Glad to help. Since you don't have any SAS drives, you should be happy with the board. I have the V2 and I have been extremely pleased with it.

that's great to hear. my new build will be similar to what you have with a i7-920, 6gb of OCZ gold, corsair hx650, and a 5750 gpu. i'm hoping to overclock the 920 to about 3.6-3.8 ghz...
