Asus P6...what now? A multi-part question.

OK, you know when your motherboard says "ROM SIP Update, don't turn off the power??" Ya, guess what happened to me and my trusty Asus P5N32-E SLI...

Long story short...I now have a lump of non-working computer parts and I'm presented with a few questions:
  • de-solder, re-solder a new ROM chip (ya, mine isn't removable)
  • buy another P5N32-E SLI from some Chinese scammer on eBay
  • build a new i7 gaming system

I'm open to any feedback, but at this point I'm leaning toward new system.

So, as far as the new system goes, I'm thinking X58 chipset. From all of the reviews I've read the P6T seems to come out ahead. But of course, Asus in their infinite wisdom has created 800 variations of the damn thing. On top of that, I kind of hate Asus. Actually I think I hate all of the motherboard manufacturers...

Anyway...assuming I can get a nice working P6something board...which one should it be?

Here is what I'd like to see:
  • high end gaming performance
  • decent memory compatibility
  • robust overclocking potential
  • usb 3.0
  • sata 6gb

Looking at my list of desires, I'm seeing the ASUS P6X58D-E, P6X58D Premium or the Rampage III Extreme.

So first question, are these boards evolutions of the P6T and should I safely assume they will live up to the decent P6T reviews? Second, what is the difference between these boards? (the Asus website sucks). Third, does anyone have any helpful suggestions?

Thanks for reading!
