Asus P5Q PRO won't post

I've been running an E6300 at 333FSB (default is 266)with 8G DDR-800 RAM and Vista Ultimate 64 SP1 since September. The temps never get above 55C. When I booted it Wednesday, the screen froze when the green Microsoft trailer appears on the screen bottom. It did POST so I fiddled with the BIOS to get back to default settings, but didn't clear the CMOS. (I never have had to do this). I got it to boot easily in SAFE mode Wednesday night. I also did a System Restore back to Monday when everything was working A-OK. I also tried to boot into my Vista disk to see if I could do a repair, but it would not start the processes on the DVD for repair or even to try to re-install the OS.

On Thursday night, it wouldn't boot again. I tried Safe Mode again but the screen froze as the black background white lettering of files appeared as it tried to enter safe mode. After several reboots, the machine would no longer even POST, but the little monitor light goes from amber to green, so I am assuming that the Video Card is OK (Radeon 3650). There were no beep codes either. I hooked my laptop up with the monitor and it works fine.😕

Anyone have any suggestions as to where to begin to fix this? I'm thinking, MB or Hard Drive. Any help would be appreciated. 😕

Thank You.

Check all connectors and make sure they are tight. Then start by only using one stick of RAM at a time to rule that out.

Thanks. I got home today and checked all the connections, but before I rebooted, I did the CMOS battery removal and clear CMOS. Booted like a charm! And I'm back to FSB 333.
