Asus P5Q PRO: New ram won't play together

I have the system described in my signature.

Last week I decided to upgrade from 4GB to 8GB, but.. decided to attempt to mix and match my dims. Unfortunately, I can't get them to play together (well).

Asus P5Q Pro, latest bios (2122)

Sticks in slot 1, 3: G.Skill F2-8000CL5-2GBPQ (2GB each stick)
Sticks in slot 2, 4: Kingston HyperX KHX8500D2T1K2 (2GB each)

This puts the system at 8GB in dual channel interleaved mode.

Timings: 5-5-5-15-4-70-8-4 @ 500mhz with FSB 400mhz giving cpu @ 3.4ghz (5:4 ratio)

Voltages:

DRAM voltage: Auto (note that auto is the only setting that gives me stability, it seems)
NB Voltage: 1.3V

Here is my issue:

Positive
1. Windows boots no problem
2. Memtest86+ finds no problems even after 5 passes
3. Prime95 doesn't crash or have issues after 2 hours+ with 8GB or 4GB.

Negative
1. GoldMemory v5.07 (on Hiren's boot cd) fails at 6% either with GPF or just straight errors
2. WoW crashes every half hour at least with 8GB installed.

What i've tested:

Both sets of kits pass all tests and are crash free if used alone. That is, the Gskill is error free and wow doesn't crash if used separate from the Kingston. Same is true for Kingston. When combined however, errors occur.

According to asus vendors list, these *SHOULD* work together, but maybe I misinterpreted the list?

My question to the community is:

1. Is this hopeless and i'll need to RMA this ram and take the restocking fee?
2. If not hopeless, should I relax my timings? And to what?
3. How high can I safely raise my northbridge voltage to test for stability? I've tried as high as 1.4V and still gives errors.

Thanks in advance all!

An update. It seems the ram doesn't want to play well at 500mhz, but at 425mhz, its fine. This puts my cpu at 3.64ghz with stock voltage and it seems stable.

I guess i'll take it. Very very strange that it just wont run at 500mhz. If anyone reads this and has any input, greatly appreciated.
