Hello,
Hope this is the right forum...

I justr ecieved a Asus P5Q Deluxe last week..

I just finished installing all the software I want and tried to run Acronis True Image disc cloning tool and it says I have not Drives :(

I also tried Drive Image and Ghost as well as Partition Magic and they will not even load from Boot CD

It can load the Boot CD rom off the SATA #3 but it can't see the drives on SATA #1 and #2

Is there any disaster recovery apps that work with this mobo?

I think I might have to return it and if I do what mobo works with these apps????

Thanks
I am really freaking out I can have my saftey blanket with this board..

True Image has an issue with Intel's ICH10R and perhaps the BIOS setting on the P5Q mobos. I had the same issue, you'll need to set the drives to "IDE" in the BIOS. This is a bit of a problem obvously if you boot off a RAID array using the integrated RAID controller, and a big reason I no longer boot off RAID.

Hi,
I have the Bios set to IDE :(

I tried and old version of PQ Drive Image 2002 and and it made an image I am not sure if its a good one though..

I have to find some other software and see how new I can go before it fails to see the HDD

Hmm, the HDD was shown in the "Main" Tab in the BIOS? Also was it detected in the disk management plug-in? Another quirk with True Image is that you may need to reboot and make it re-detect new drives. Overall I found it a bit flaky, but it finally did what I wanted.

Hi,
It works fine in Windows XP mode but in Booting from DVD is where it cant find HDDs

I even tried adding an IDE DVD driving after Dive Image 2002 working booting from Floppy but that had same error

I think I will just dual Install XP incase one crashs I can boot to other and till I am sure Drive Image works..

Hmm...i've used Acronis before just fine, in AHCI mode too (on my P5Q-D).

It didn't work with the Marvell ports, but was fine when i was using the Intel ones...

What is AHCI Mode???

I have it in IDE mode...

Can I just change it in Bios?????

I gave AHCI a try and it worked :) Y'all are a Genius'
But I could not boot up WinXP in AHCI mode
It would boot showing winxp boot logo but then exit and re-post over and over three or four time, so I set it back to IDE

Any way I can keep AHCI setting and boot winxp??

But I also have another issue

When I go to Bios and save & exit I have to power down the PSU to get machine to post.. This has happened a dozen time so far but dont remember having to do this last week..

Any uggestions????
