1.5 year old Asus P5N32 is "faulty", according to Geeksquad (I'm too busy unfortunately). I suspected it was the mb (never overclocked), so no surprise there.

PC has:
Intel Core 2 Extreme
Vista Home Premium
Dual OCZ extremes
X-Fi platinum
Dual internal drives (no RAID set)

All in all, a 1.5 yr old top of the line system (at the time).

-- Any suggestions on what board I can swap in, that's FASTER, MORE RELIABLE, and won't need any additional tweaks or wiping of hard drives, to work like a breeze?

-- Last, but not least, any suggestions on hardware additions to make it even faster?

Thanks very much

What psu were you using with it?

If you still need SLI I would look at 750i if not SLi then grab a P35 or P45 board (P5K-E or P5Q-E)

1kW psu based on some reviews at the time that the 8800 GTX needed alot of power (not enough?)..

Either way I go I need to reinstall Vista yes? Maybe I go back to XP, Vista sux.

Wait... what was the problem to begin with as I never trust ANY "GeekSquad" or similar opinion. Their F'ing morons IMO.

Well, the PC stopped completely. Turning it on would not access anything on the mb, no beeps, no lights on for mouse or keyboard, no startup or welcome, and no monitor signal. Physical inspection was negative, makes a bit of sense since there was no smell. Took it in for a look, and they said it was "faulty" and on a second call, "dead".

Okay, can you re-call what you were doing at that moment? Like playing a games, surfing the web, etc.? Before you took it for them too look at it, did you see anything unusual on the motherboard itself? Burn marks, bulging cap's. anything? Do the case fan's or any of the fans spin when you press the power button or anything? Also is their any kind of smell from say the PSU area?
Also do you have a more detailed system spec's list?

Intel Core 2 Extreme ---- Uh... which?
Vista Home Premium
Dual OCZ extremes ---I assume this is memory
X-Fi platinum
Dual internal drives (no RAID set)

Isn't exactly specific, nor mentions what graphics card(which I assume is 8800GTX from previous post; but is it single or SLI?).
