Asus P5N-E SLI?

I just built a new PC with this P5N-E SLI board. After I installed everything, including the CD that came with the board, I don't have any S/PDIF. In Sound manager the option for Digital doesn't have an icon next to it like the analog/back panel and front panel do. When I connect my optical cable or coax, all I get is sound from the front speakers. Do I have to do something on the motherboard or in BIOS to turn on the S/PDIF? It just looks like the S/PDIF isn't enabled.
I have installed the Realtek drivers that came with the install disk, and I've tried the newer set from Realtek and still no S/PDIF. Is this just a pass through S/PDIF?

I'm using a Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 that worked with my other MB and it's S/PDIF out.

Thank you for any help.
