Ive struggled with this PC for a few weeks now and I cannot get it to boot. The specs of the comp are:
C2D e6400
2x512mb Corsair TWIN2X1024-5400C4
Asus P5LD2-VM DH R2.0
Maxtor 80gb sata
eVGA 7600GS
Antec fusion with the included 430w psu.
Its an HTPC that Im working on. I installed everything, plugged it in, and pressed the power button, the lights come on, the fans spin, but I dont get any picture on the screen or any beeps.
I tried taking out the video card, hard drive and dvd drive with no luck. I used the onboard video, nothing. Took out one stick of ram, nothing. Put in the other stick, nothing. Moved the ram slots, nothing. I have a friend with some kingston DDR2 667, put that in there and no go. I have an older P4 3.2ghz I put in there, and nothing. The ram tested good in my friends computer, but I dont have another board to test the CPU. The only thing that does happen, is when I boot it with no ram at all, It gives me one constant beep. Something has to be going on there then?
I had actually RMA'ed the board 2 weeks ago, and I just got the replacement today, and It still dosent work. After a little googling and searching, I found people with both the corsair and the kingston ram in the board, and it worked fine for them. I really dont have the time to RMA it again, Ive been waiting for this pc to be done for weeks. Im really at a loss right now, I have no clue whats going on with it and its frustrating me. Any input would be really helpful. Thanks
