When I try to install the USB drivers using the CD it came with, it opens a text file stating I do not need to install the drivers since I have Windows XP Serivice Pack 1 or later. My computer has Service Pack 2 installed, and Windows Update has no drivers available for this motherboard. The Asus website also has no USB drivers for this motherboard, only drivers for the integrated sound and ethernet are available.

What can I do to get USB 2.0 support?

I just got the asus p5ld2 and conroe 6600. I got the same message when I installed and set it up. I installed an extra 4 port usb connector rather than the 2 usb port & game port connector included with the motherboard. I now have 8 usb ports working fine. You do not need any special drivers. Be careful changing any settings in the bios as I had a hades of a time getting it right.

When I connect my external hard drive, Windows tells me something like "this device will work faster using high speed USB, click her to see available connections" then I click on it and it tells me there are no high speed USB ports available. The computer clearly does not have 2.0 drivers installed, so my hard drive is stuck at 12mb/s.
