Hi.

Quick help will be much appreciated.

I installed 2 sticks of Cosair with 2 gig each, and bios is posting
4087mb OK(installed memory size 4096mb).

When I installed 2 sticks of 1 gig each Cosair, it posted
2039mb OK(installed memory size 2048mb).

I tried just one stick of one gig and it posted 1015mb, yes minus 9 from 1024.

Is it normal for this board?
Did the 9 mb go for something else, like graphic since I don't install any card?
I never seen it from other brand mobo.

If it's not normal, I can take it back to Frys.

Thanks for any help.

Its normal for Intel's chipset. Whether or not the BIOS actually shows the 8MB ~ 16MB that will be reserved for certain system functions is a design choice.
