Asus P5KPL-CM major issue

I have just installed a galaxy geforce260+ on my P5KPL-CM but while the integrated grphics gives mea signal i cannot get any with the discrete card. I am at a loss at to what settings need to be changed, i found the setting in the bios to turn off the integrated graphics but that didn't help nor did setting the graphics settings to load pci/peg help. Any ideas?
