Hey guys,
After surfing around the internet for a while, I haven't been able to find anything that's helped me to fix this particular problem... the closest thing I found was in a topic here, so I thought I'd post to see if any of you guys can help me.
I installed a new ASUS P5KC motherboard, along with a Intel Core2Quad processor and GeForce 8800 GT today in a completely new computer. Everything went just fine, Windows XP install and all, yet I couldn't get the audio driver to install properly. After "installing" it (letting the most recent driver file try to install Realtek audio, and then reboot the computer), Windows wouldn't recognize my audio device. I just can't figure it out. The only mysterious thing that pops out at me in the device driver is a mysterious "PCI device" listed under "Other Devices" that I can't figure out. I've tried uninstalling the device and then trying to install the driver, nothing works. When I look at my hardware, Windows says there is no sound device installed. I just don't get what I'm doing wrong.
In any case, I'm trying to get this to work so that my new computer can finally be fully functional! Any people out there willing to help out??
