Hi there, not sure if any of you have the same problem:
I connect my ASUS P5K-VM VGA output to my HDTV when I was building the new PC, it supports 1980x1080 very well. when everything is ready, I connect it to my Soyo 24" LCD, and in windows xp display properties it can only support up to 1600x1200 (24" LCD native is 1920x1200, my old PC was using it, so the monitor is good)

checked everything:
connect it back to the HDTV, shows up 1920x1080, no problem..
back to the 24" soyo, only 1600x1200 again. :(
check the driver for G33 intergrated video chipset, 6.14.10.4864 (the latest and greatest from intel.com)
soyo 24" LCD doesn't have a driver (hmmmm...), try to using a Dell 2407wfp driver to fool around, no luck..

any idea about this?

my system:
asus p5k-vm
E2140 oc to 2.67G
4x1G DDR2-800
winxp pro
in antec Aria case..

not 100% sure why it doesnt work for you on analog as it is, but i have one of these, and when i briefly had a 24" monitor it did work.

the intel driver might just restrict the resolution on analog if your board doesnt have the ramdacs to support that res. dvi is digital though so it should work.

do you think the missing of a monitor driver (.inf file) might be a problem as well? I was using an ati9200 video card with this monitor before and it's working fine. intel site mention about G33 will read the max. resolution the monitor supports from the video port (or maybe .inf driver file? I don't know. :( ) kinda confusing..... and soyo's support really s**k... :(

yeah it could just be a driver thing.

honestly i wouldnt want to run 1920x1200 analog, usually on analog there is distortion at that point. but yeah give it a shot.
