Hi there,

I need a little bit of help and hopefully will find a solution.

Ive just bought an Asus p5k-vm motherboard, an e6850 processor, sapphire 2600xt and 2 gigs of Mushkin ram. First off I cant get 1680x1050 with onboard video after a clean install with the latest intel drivers hence the 2600xt.

After installing the 2600xt through my dvi cable to my monitor which is a Viewsonic vx2235, I get a black screen. I would have to plug in a regular vga cable with a vga to dvi changer in order to get anything on my screen.

Ive have fiddled with all the options in the bios screen i.e disable onboard video, change settings from igd to peg/pci, peg/igd etc to no avail. Is there a trick in order to be able to boot my system (see bios post) from my 2600xt through dvi cable? I want to do a fresh install of my operating system (windows xp) with my 2600xt plugged in not the onboard video.

Thanks,
