Recently I took Asus p5k-pro with Intel E6750. So the issue is that before I have updated bios version 0201 I could easely overclock E6750 on 3.2, 3.6 (have not tried more). After updating bios to version 0501 I can't now overclock it at all.
I have tried also to roll back the bios to the first version (0201) but didn't had succes (tried in Win XP and in dos with afudos).
Today I found a newer ver. of bios (0601) but no changes can't overclock it.

So has anyone any advice because ASUS is selling this motherboard with the main advantage that it has excellent overclocking abilities.

thanks in advance

You can always revert to the older version of BIOS with AWDFLASH command in DOS.

Check your BIOS type though, because the command might be different for AMI or Phoenix.

More here.

Good luck!

Just to inform other people, the problem was new bios thats for sure!

I managed to downgrade-flash bios to 0201, u are asking how? So it's very simple I have used an older Asus update where when I change in the options to alow downgrade it realy alows me to do that so I flashed the bios from windows without problem :)

here is the link of the old asus update if somone experience some similar problem:

and a message to people who have the new asus P5K PRO - DON'T upgrade the bios from the version 0201 or you will not be able to oveclock and the system will be unstable even if u don't overclock!

If u overclock your procesor disable the option CPU spread spectrum in Bios and have fun with overclock :) The ASUS P5K PRO is working like a dream now:))
