Asus P5K Premium

Hello all
My friend is considering building a new system for himself, and he was wondering what sort motherboard he should get. He does want to overclock, so I have said to him, to get a P35 board. He recently picked out the P5K Premium, which he said he liked, but after some reading up, I've found it has some problems regarding its storage controller.

My question is have these problems been sorted out, or are they still lurking about in some boards being sold these days. Apart from that, are there any semi high end P35 boards, similar to the P5K Premium that Asus makes?

Replies will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The AHCI/RAID issues were SATAII only using older WD/Samsung drives. But I think the latest Asus bios fixes this issue.

As for other Asus boards, there is the P5K Deluxe version as well. Only difference is the PCB layers and layout and about $10.00.

Thanks for your replies, Thor89 and BassBomb. I was also looking at the P5K Deluxe, which seems quite similar to the Premium. The price difference is small, here in the UK, it is only a few pounds.

Do you think there will be much of a difference in overclocking ability between thw two boards, using a E8200?

Chipset and cooling are probably the biggest factors involved in OC'ing. I would see no difference between the two for oc'ing.
