Asus P5K Deluxe won't wake up

I am on my 2nd PK5 deluxe board. I had to return the first one
because it would not "wake up". When I turned the computer on the
lights and fans would come on but the monitor would not get a
signal.

Now, my replacement board is doing something similar when it has been
hibernating; it won't wake up. Sometimes turning the computer off and
then back on works. Usually, I have to actually cut the power switch
off for 10 seconds before it sends a signal to the monitor and powers
back up.

For a while it was donig this and then saying that the overclock
failed, but I haven't overclocked it yet. I reset it and redid the
settings and I haven't seen that message for a few weeks. But I am
getting tired of cutting the power off to wake it up.. considering
ditching the board for an Intel if I can't get it resolved.

Is my board on the blink? Any suggestions?

Did you turn on your monitor before you turned on your desktop? I had the same problem with my P5B vanilla board connected up through my DVI cable. I can see the screen boot up then it just goes blank.

The monitor always stays on; I just let it power off when it sleeps.

Usually the screen just stays blank on the monitor (even though the power is on), even after reseting the computer.

Only thing you can do is update the bios and keep trying. If you got a faulty motherboard or it's just one bad batch of boards then it's time to RMA and get a new board.
