ASUS P5K, Can I use a PCI-Ex16 2.0 video card?

I've got an ASUS P5K Deluxe.

The manual says PCI-Ex16, so I am reasonably sure this motherboard does not support PCI-Ex16 2.0, but I'm not sure of the differences between the first rev and 2.0.

I seriously doubt I can use a 2.0 video board in a non 2.0 mobo, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks.

You can use a newer PCI-E 2.0 video card in your motherboard - no prob. The standards are backwards compatible.

I was doing a bit of reading - I wonder if the 2.0 cards come close to using the bandwidth that the 1.0 spec provides?

no, they dont.

I can take my 9600GT and put it in my PCI-E 4x slot and not even notice a performance change.
