ASUS P5G41C-M LX mobo - Where do I plug the CD-IN?

Hey guys..... my brother just got this mobo & we decided to just use the on-board sound rather than the existing sound card as putting it in makes it sit directly on top of the video card.

Anyway..... the sound card we had had a "CD-IN" which we plugged the cord from the CD/DVD drive into...... though now we're not sure where we plug that cord in the mobo.

Any help!?

Doesn't look like it has one. There is a S/PDIF output, but no input. That said, I don't believe it is entirely necessary anymore. Originally those cables were used to facilitate being able to use the CD-ROM to play an audio CD entirely in hardware (i.e. that cable was an audio input to the sound card, and there were control buttons on the CD-ROM itself to play/ff/rewind/stop, as there was no software based players at the time). All this data is now sent down the IDE or SATA bus connection.

Yep, in "olden days," you'd probably connect that cable to your sound card...but very few people use those anymore...aand the motherboard does a pretty good job of handling the sound for you.
