I can't seem to find any online vendors selling the non-WiFi version of the Asus P5E3 Deluxe. It shows up on the Asus site but I can only seem to find the more expensive WiFi edition.

Thanks...Scott

because i guess when people buy high end motherboards, they want the full nine yards. its like the 20GB ps3 vs the 60GB ps3, or even the 4GB iphone vs 8GB iphone. just consumer demand thats all...

Thanks krnmastersgt. I had found that one last week. I was surprised that the price diff between WiFi and non-WiFi was so small. I would have thought that no WiFi and no embedded Linux would have cut a bit more off the cost.

Now I just have to decide if I should pull the trigger or wait for the P5E3 Premium (x48) for future upgradeability...

If you plan on getting a Wolfdale cpu, I'd suggest waiting for the x48, however if you're just going to run it off of the cpu you currently own, the x38 might be a better investment since the performance difference with a pre-Wolfdale cpu will probably be very small for the price you're going to be paying. And isn't a new socket coming out in a year or so? Wouldn't that torpedo any ideas of future-proofed motherboards?

I am planning on getting a Wolfdale (E8500). Plus, I didn't know that there was a new socket coming that soon. I can't wait that long to build a new system so I've got to do something. I'm leaning towards waiting for the x48.

The socket thing is speculation, stuff I've read online so whatever, ignore it for now. Still the x48 offers nominal advantages over the x38 from what I've seen and since you're getting a Wolfdale it's probably a good idea.
