Asus P5B Dlx suddenly wont post.......

Computer suddenly wont post. No bios beep. No signal to monitor. Fans all spin up OK.
Have re-set CMOS-no change.
This did happen last week, but pressing re-set sorted it. Not this time.
Have tried with 1 stick ram.
Someone said booting without CPU would force CMOS reset. Tried and failed.
CMOS battery appears OK on meter.

Any thoughts appreciated.

That's strange I have exactly the same problem. About 1,5 weeks ago I tried to start my rig. The fans turned on and everything but the monitor said no signal.
My build is over a year old and has been running @ 3,2GHz the whole time without any (big) hitches, until now.
I've tried every thing Majestyk tried. Tried another videocard but no go. Now I'm gonna pull all the cables and rebuild it and see what happens. After that I'm gonna RMA it, still have 2 years warranty...

I left the battery out and clear CMOS overnight, but still no go. I'm tempted to try an IP35-E as they are a good bang for the buck, but they have cold boot issues with Seasonic PSU's. Might take a chance.
Oh, well time to use that P182 I've been meaning to use for last couple of months.

I've tried booting outside of the case (a P180) on the mobo box hotwiring it with a screwdrivers. But as inside the case all the fans start turning and the asus led turns red, but nothing on screen. I'm RMA'ing it asap.
Good luck with yours Majestyk.

As with yours, my Asus LED turns red. Out of interest does your GPU fan spin up to full speed and stay there ??

Yes, it does. Seems like we have the exact same problem :X Did you try a different PSU? I didn't. I don't have a spare one and I read on some websites that a bad PSU could cause similar problems.

I borrowed another motherboard and it replicated itself to a degree. It will boot once, then needs a cmos reset; continues doing this in a loop. I know it's not the RAM as I swapped it. It's looking PSU related. The only spare PSU I have is a 20 pin unit, with no GPU pwr. Dont think it will work will it. ?? Have you a link to the sites quoting similar problems ??

I had a defective stick of RAM.
