I reseat one of my RAM modules. It's really strange I have everything running at stock settings (no overclocking yet) and the system has ran fine since I built it back in the first week of April. A few days ago I went to turn the machine on - powers up but no post, no beeps, no nothing. First thing I tried to do was take out the RAM and see what happened during post. I take out the RAM (both sticks) and I get the no memory beeps. I replace the sticks in the same slots and the system boots and is completely stable in windows. I then shut down 20 minutes later and reboot into windows fine again. I shut down the computer for the night and when I get home the next day from work, I have the same "no post or boot up" issue. I remove and reseat the RAM - and BAM! it boots no problem into windows and is stable for the rest of the night. I've tested the RAM in another system and it works with no issues. I'm thinking that I might need to RMA this motherboard. Has anyone seen anything like this? Thanks in advance for the advice.

saw this many many moons ago........

we never found a fix except a replacement mobo. Had lots of theories though ranging from loose/dry solder on BIOS rom to Heat from the system causes the expansion in the board somewhere and when you shut down the system cools and the expanded part dosen't contract back correctly. My favourite was the Electrons pigged out on ice cream over night and couldn't fit through any of the circuits.

Seriously think you will never find the problem.

Thanks for the advice setras. I've been building my own systems for over 10 years now and this has just totally stumped me. I think I will go the route of RMA and stop banging my head against the wall :) Thanks again for the response.

OP: mention that the above is the exact problem you're having when you submit an RMA .
