Hello,

There is a problem with the drivers of onboard sound device on Asus P5B Deluxe which causes hisses and noise while hearing some music and also effects boot times a little. There also is a problem with Jmicron driver, which I am told I should not install under Windows, if I am not using it as RAID.

I contacted ASUS about it on 14th instant. I got reply from them TODAY! :( & well, the reply I received asked me to install the latest beta driver for Jmicron, the guy from ASUS China said the file is big so he is splitting it in four and sending all four in seperate e-mails. He only has attached two!

He also provided me link which said 4580.zip, the latest drivers for Soundmax causing the problem is 4570! It was a direct download link, when I clicked on it, I got 404 error :(.

Has anyone else contacted ASUS about it? Have you people been given the 4580 driver for Sound device? Please share.

Thanks.

No but I called them several days ago about some slow booting and memory timing problems, waited on hold for 30 minutes (after listening to the greeting that estimated a "hold time of ... FIVE ... minues"), gave my number and was promised a follow-up phone call before midnight east coast time or within 24 hours. Right now, I'm counting 5 days with no return call...the Asus site doesn't show the new drivers yet and the SoundMax site doesn't provide drivers (and the Creative soundboard is backordered... doo dah, doo dah...).

So should I remove the JMicron driver? I didn't F6 it into the system--it just appeared (not using it as RAID, or for that matter for anything other than optical drives...).

Can you elaborate at all?
