ASUS P5B Deluxe IDE Problems

Just built a new system using the P5B Deluxe and I can no longer get my DVD-RW drive or DVD-ROM drive to work. It did work at one point because I installed WinXP and other drivers using the DVD-RW drive. In the device manager they are still listed. And in My Computer they are still there. But everytime I put a disk in either it says to Insert Disk.

Things I have tried so far:
every combination of Master/slave and cable select
updating BIOS
updating Raid controller
tried CDs and DVDs - wont even recognize my Asus disk

Anything else I can try?
