Hi,

System can not recover from hibernation. It hang on the very first BIOS screen forever. I have to recycle power for >=5 sec after that it is OK. No problem with Stand-By (if it is short), no problem with reboot. Only hibernation.

Thanks

I had the same problem with my original Asus p5GD2-X motherboard. I put it in standby mode one night, and it never came back to life afterward. I was a n00b then (well a little more than I still am), and the problem was solved by my buying a new one. Sorry, not much help to you, just letting you know that you aren't alone :)

Hi CDC,

Did I understand you correctly?
You have returned first one like a defective item and get replacement which works just fine?
Am I right?

I'm trying to understand is it some BIOS settings, something else or just simply defective part?

Um...shamefully in a word "yes" I actually just bought a new one, and sold the "broken" one on eBay to someone that apparently knew more than I did at the time, because he got it to post.

I am again sorry for not being anymore help. I think it was a BIOS setting, but been a couple years ago, and I guess I'll never know.

Yes I think thats the same thing. Just follow the directions. I think its change the jumper, remove battery for 15 seconds, install battery, replace jumper in original spot and boot. Something like that.

I'll try to do this, but it was a brand new board with unbroken factory sealed package and I don't think it will help.
According to ASUS forum I'm not alone with this problem and I'm trying to understand is it some BIOS settings (I almost didn't touch anything), BIOS bug, something else or just defective motherboard.
