Asus P5B Deluxe and Microphone Issues

I am having issues getting microphone to work on Asus P5B Deluxe board. Everything else from the onboard sound card is working perfectly. When I plug in the microphone (both regular microphone and Sound Max Superbeam microphone), the Sound Max paanels pops up and says mic is selected and working properly. But when I use skype or other microphone using programs, no sound is transmitted via mic. Any ideas???
