Asus P5ad2 Deluxe not detecting hard drive

Hi all,

I have an ASUS P5AD2 Deluxe that is not detecting any hard drive that I plug into the primary IDE raid channel. The standard IDE connector does detect the HD and any CDROM I plug into it, but the raid connectors don't detect anything. I have set the BIOS to IDE mode but that doesn't help.
Please help me out, any advice will be appreciated.

I have two Asus P5 boards and over time the controllers died out on them. One doesn't detect the floppy and CD anymore the other doesn't detect anything.

Was anything changed or did it just stop detecting the drives one day?

Sorry for the delayed response.
This is a brand new motherboard.

Neither one of the raid controllers register the IDE devices. The interesting thing is that when the BIOS is looking for IDE devices it finds everything connected, but when I go into the bios, nothing shows up, for all IDE channels it says nothing found. Since nothing registers in the bios, windows install doesn't detect any hard drives.

Anyone have any ideas?
