I am planning on formatting my mom's comuter because it got infected with the SirCam virus. I am planning on installing Win2K on the system (it was running crappy Win ME). The system is an AMD K6-2 450 on an ASUS P5A motherboard (Aladdin 5 chipset). What motherboard drivers, if any do I need to install? AGP? IDE? Also, any of you out there dealt with this virus before? What files does it infect, I need to back up some spreadsheets and stuff, any suggestions on how to do it without carrying the virus over? I am going to install Norton Anti-Virus on the w2k system.

I say back those files up and Install win 2k and norton. Download nortons most recent virus definitions. Then add the spread sheet docs. That way even with the Virus infecting your spreadsheets norton will catch it.

I think that K62 would run 2k okay, but not great. Look at the mobo website to find out what drivers you need.
