Asus P4T533 raid probs ... please help !!! :)

Hi I got a Asus P4T533 with bios 1004A, I use the Promise onboard RAID for striping 2 WD800jb disks.
And I get a very slow detection of the disks .. about 30 dots when it says "Scanning IDE" .
And if I do a clean install and run ATTO i get around 65 mb/sec i both read/write but when i put on "windows update" patches and some other drivers (sound,usb2 ..) it only shows 20mb/sec in write but read is still ~65mb/sec what the hell is going on here ???

im using the maxtor ata133 7200 rpm 80gb discs on the gigabyte counterpart 8IHXP, the scanning i noticed is slower on the wd1200s i just installed, about 20 dots compared to the 10-15 of the Maxtors at bootup on the promise raid channel..

i tried running both the WD1200s & the maxtors 2 arrays = dont support it

dont have ne to test my read/write speed, but the 80s cut my Encoding time down i noticed, running 24/7 doing movie ripping.. dont know how well these wd1200s will run..

found the problem .... shared irq:s ... the only way to get the performence back was to diseble USB 2.0 chip onboard
A tip if you wanna change the stripesize on promise lite and use 2 arrays then change the bios so it gets a "Promise TX2000" bios, works fine
The slow detetion problem i can not solve ... it just the disks and the controller combo .. sucks
