Asus P4T533 Overclock Question

ok my system currently runs 100% stable @ 161FSB with memory of 3x and RDRAM Turbo setting off. Looped Memtest, 3dmark, and prime 95 for more than 24hours. When I initially overclocked the system it boots up in windows @ 166 and fails w/ blue screen @ 167 so I took 5mhz off the 166 and came up with the 161 figure and ran all benchmarks and stress testing. Should I get greedy and see if I can gain a few extra mhz out of the system? Temps aren't a problem because of my prometeia and the vcore is set @ 1.625 and is near 1.7 since asus over does it w/ the vcore setting. Also, should I have Turbo mode on? Thanks for any input.

I wouldn't try for any more MHz. As a matter of fact, IMHO, you're hurting your performance by running your ram at 3x (it's underclocked at 966MHz). I was able to hit 165 fsb on my system with 3x, but it wasn't very stable for gaming. After a lot of experimentation, here I sit at 147 fsb with the ram at AUTO. The turbo setting was totally unstable for me....I run SETI and play 3D games which would crash the system.

The nice thing about these mobos and the i850 chipset, even at 133 fsb our systems smoke-up DDR based systems. I'm happy to have 147 fsb, that's good enough to own most other systems. 😉
