Asus P4T-E vs. Abit TH-7II

I don't care for either, personally, but P4T-E is (from personal experience) a better board. TH7-II is a real crapshoot -- besides ABIT's infamous quality control debacles, you are likely to purchase a board which is flashed with an older BIOS which can't recognize (read: POST) with a Northwood core -- meaning that unless you have (or can borrow) a Willamette P4 to throw in temporarily to flash to a newer BIOS, you'll have to pay ABIT to send you a new chip.

IMO the Th7 II is the only way to go

if you buy from a vendor that gets a lot of business you will never get one that has an old bios

mine was flashed with the newest bios from newegg and my friends was also (googlegear)

all the new boards have the new clock generators and you can lock your AGP bus unlike the P4T-E

I would bet that the TH7 can hit higher FSB as long as ur memory can take it because of the locked AGP bus

MY 1.8A does 2.4

i would go with the Th7 II now but the 533 FSB version of the P4 T looks sweet

smart card reader, voice postman

i never had a QC issue with an abit board

i've only owned 2 (KA7 , TH7 II- RAID)

my roomate has 1 (KG7- RAID)

my friend has one (ABIT Th7 II)

another one of my friends has one (BX chipset)

never had a doa board but that is only 5 boards

5/5 is not bad though 🙂

I have the TH7-II and think it is a pretty decent board. I actually have the raid version, which is why I went with it to begin with. I would like to compare the two, but I never had the chance. I believe it is harder to find the higher quality memory clock generators on the asus, but I haven't done much research on it since I went abit instead. I would be either board would suit your needs just fine.
