I have an asus p4-t motherboard and it was all fine and dandy till recently. when i reboot my memory trys to check itself in the bios (i have 512 so it anoys me) i want to disable that if i can. i dont see anywhere in my bios to do so. anyone know how? the memory is also doing something weird when it checks itself. it goes all the way to the end (512) then restarts counting itself again.
i also have another weird issue. after my bios goes over all the devices i have installed (cd roms, and harddrives) i get this anoying pop up screen thats like 4 inchs wide and about 6 inch high. it asks me what device i want to boot from. i want rid of this screen, it kills me. it has some options there that i dont even have (like a zip drive) i would like to turn my pc on and just have it go into windows.
now heres the funny thing. i manually looked and i dont see anything that i can change to fix this. (i also set the bios to defaults and it still dosent fix either of my issues) it didnt use to do it and i have no idea why its doing it now. i have just today updated the bios and it still is the same. i have also formatted my C drive and install win xp on it. so im lead to beleave that this is in my bios somewhere. i also took the cmos battery out of it and let it out for 15 minuits and poped it back in and it still is the same. if anyone could help it would be great.
thanks in advance for any help.
