Asus P4S8X USB ports not all working

Only 2 of the ports on the board are working. The front USB doesnt work either. I have treid just about everything I can think of. I have service pack one and all the updates, I have unplugged everything and re-connected everything. The 2 ports that do work won't work as 2.0 only 1.0 , cant figure this out either. I know sometimes that on the front USB connection that the fifth pin connetcor can cause 2.0 USB function not to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are there any confilcts or exclamation points in device manager? To get my USB 2.0 to work I have to remove one thing and let windows redetect it once I get SP1 installed. Also, have you checked to make sure all are on in the bios?

Device manager doesn't show any conflicts and just to make sure that service pack one worked properly, I made it redetect it. I have set the bios to the default settings which Asus says would be correct and double checked myself to make sure they were setup. The place I got the M/B from thinks from what I have told them that the USB ports may be bad or the board itself may be bad. They want me to ship it to them to look at. I wanted to exhaust all avenues before doing this because I know I wont have a PC for a month or so if I send it to them! Any other suggestions?

Check your bios, often you can turn on/off ports and even set the mode they run in.

I have checked the bois for each port and they are setup according to Asus's specs to work properly. I can't imagine any other solution beyond the things metioned here. I Might try one more time to reconnect everything and check the bios one more time. Other than this I guess I might have to ship this puppy back to Asus. I hate the though of how long I'll be with out my good PC. My back up is and old HP Vectra I rebuilt. It has P3 866 processor with 512 PC133 and the usuals, not even close to my regular. At least I can still surf. THanks for all the help everyone, if any one still has some ideas please let me know. Thanks!!!!!!!!
