Asus p4s800d-e onboard sound problem.

:frown: I have had this motherboard for about 6 months now. For sound I have been using a radio with usb support so i never used the onboard sound. Just recently I have used headphones in the speaker jack. There is a noise like scraping metal and electricity. I cant use it because it is so loud. Any Ideas?

Sounds like electrical interference to me. Is the speaker jack on the case or on the back of the board?

On the board. I tried both ports.

I have the same mobo and it doesn't work for me either. So I just bought an Audigy 2 ZS instead. LOL. Problem solved.

I will have to do that, I am not very impressed with the sound thing, but it was a cheap mobo so nothing to complain about thanks for the help.

I had the same issue, like jj2005 I bought a Audigy 2 ZS also. Nice MB other than the on boaard sound! Good luck.
