I assume your monitor shows some indication it is on. Have you tried connecting another monitor?

If you think it might be something in the BIOS, temprarily remove the battery or, if your board has a BIOS reset jumper, use it to reset it to the defaults. Also, check your manual to verify any jumper settings.

Hope that helps. :)

thanks alot for responding harvey.

yes, i have tried 3 monitors so far and have gotten the same result (or lack there of) with all 3.

im going to give clearing the cmos a shot here in just a second and ill post again here shortly with the result.

the default for this mobo is "jumperless" which is changeable in the bios. but i gotta get to the bios first. :)

anyway, ill give the cmos clearing a shot right now.

thanks again harvey for taking time out to help me, its greatly apprieciated.

Got another vid card? Also, does this mobo have onboard video? If so, make sure any jumpers for this are set correctly. I once had a mobo with onboard vid that was supposed to automatically recognize an external vid card, but it didn't.

If all this doesn't work, it sounds like your motherboard is NFG. :(

Check your BIOS settings for the monitor default. The Asus default is always PCI - I assume your Radeon is AGP?
