I'm going to be building a gaming rig and need a help on the MoBo selection. I'm going to be overclocking a Pentium 4 1.8Aghz and need a good MoBo that will overclock well that's not terribly expensive. I have planned the ASUS P4S533, is this a good choice? See it HERE
Thanks In Advance.
If you plan on never going above 150mhz fsb then it's a great board,if you want to go higher I suggest you get the P4B533 instead because it's got the agp/pci lock you will need when you go into higher fsb overclocks.
Ok, Thanks a lot, I'll probably end up going with the P4B533. Oh yeah. I'm going to be using a santa cruz sound card, I won't have any problems because of the onboard sound right?
Thanks again.
No,you won't have a problem. You can disable the onboard sound on the P4B533 in the bios or your sound card will override the onboard sound.I shut mine off in the bios.
