Thanks for looking...
I'm attempting to build my first HTPC and can't for the life of me get the onboard LAN to work. I swear, I'm not a complete newb, but obviously I know just enough to be dangerous. Parts list looks like this:
- P4 1.6A
- Asus P4S533
- Samsung 512 DDR PC2700
- Seagate Barracuda IV 7200rpm 80 gig
- Plextor CD-RW 12/10/32
- ATI Radeon 9000
- Win 98SE
- LG DVD-Rom LT-163 (yet to be installed)
Installation went smooth for Win98SE and the ATI drivers, but I'm completely hung up until I can go online. The LAN's enabled in BIOS. Whenever I try to install the driver off of the Asus CD, I get prompted to insert the Win 98SE disk - which, of course, does not contain the necessary files - the first one being "dhcpcsvc.dll"
I'm also going to throw this cry for help out on Asusboards, but it seems like you guys are much more active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again
