I just built a brand new system using the ASUS P4S533 motherboard and a Intel P4 1.7 chip. Every time I start the computer I get an error message saying "Hardware Monitor found an error. Enter Power setup menu for details." I don't know what could be wrong. Here are my settings in BIOS for Hardware Monitor:

Q Fan Function: Disabled
MB Temperature: 37 degrees celsius/98.5 F
CPU Temperature: 39 degrees celsius/102 F
Power Temperature: N/A
CPU Fan Speed: N/A
Chassis Fan Speed: N/A
Power Fan Speed: 2481 RPM (varies)

VCORE Voltage: 1.79V (varies)
+3.3V Voltage: 3.28V (varies)
+5V Voltage: 5.13V (varies)
+12V Voltage: 11.96V (varies)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If its any help the other components in my system are:

Video Card: ATI Radeon 8500LE
Sound Card: Sound Blaster 16 PCI
Sony CD-RW Drive CRX175A2
Sony CD Drive
6.4 Hard Drive (Will be replaced very soon)
Floppy

Thank-you in advance.

"CPU Fan Speed: N/A"

I think this is it. You need to have a fan plugged into the fan power connector on the MoBo. It has to be a fan that has a tach output on it (i.e. not a Panaflo!)

Hmm. definitely check out your CPU fan and see if thats all plugged in, but if that doesn't fix it you can disable the system from displaying these messages. However, only do so if your sure your system is actually running stable.

You should be able to enable it with a right arrow key.
