can someone please link me to this bios, everything i've found so far extracts to .awd format... i need .bin, or so i'm told... please help, thanks

.awd extention is fine. when using a dos flash it doesnt matter what the name is.
lately ive renamed mine .333 and .533 extentions so i dont get them confused 😉

ok, when i flashed the bios on my p4s333.... its saying hardware monitor has detected an error, see power management setup... but i didn't touch any of the bios settings, i'm not sure why its telling me that. system still runs just fine, but i have to wait when i boot up to bypass it lol

yup and yup... it doesn't affect my system at all, i think it might be cause my cpu fan doesn't have an rpm monitoring tail on it, so it doesn't detect a cpu fan running... good success though, i've had my 1.6a running over 2.5 gig... but my pci devices don't like it 🙁 they need to release a bios with a new divider!!

one more question... my temps seem to be a bit high to me, i'm using the asus probe...

my vcore is only at 1.58, but my cpu is reading at like 47C default, with the MB temp showing 33C. which of these is right, and if the cpu one is right... why on earth is it so darn hot? i'm using a 1.6a with an alpha 8942 w/40cfm panaflo. i thought these things ran cool? 😉

tried that... its sucking now, instead of blowing... up to 50C 🙁 if i have to take the hsf off and reapply the AS3, i'm gonna be pissed... that heatsink is a PAIN IN THE ARSE to install lol

<< anyone know if asus will ever release a bios for us with a 1/5 divider for those pci cards? 🙁 >>

Heh, I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. It's a shame, too, because I'm fairly certain that my 1.6A could handle 166MHz FSB if I could just keep my video card in spec.

WOW, I finally got around to flashing to the ps51006c BIOS and the difference in speed is very real. :Q I thought everyone was exagerrating but Windows really is significantly snappier. Thanks a lot, Thugsrook. 🙂

Now if only we could get that 1/5 PCI divider...

must... have... 1/5 divider... i've run my 1.6a well over 155fsb just fine, but the pci cards freak out... like exp said, i'm fairly certain 166fsb is well within reach!

IMHO - its the moboard giving out, not your pci cards.
check to see how high you can run below 133fsb w/your cards installed.
i bet both of you guys can run any fsb from 115fsb/38pci thru 132fsb/44pci - i can.

🙂

i'm about 99% certain its my network card and my hard disks... windows will run stable, i've run a full night of sandra burn-in at 155fsb without any problems, but when i try to use the network card, it goes whackjob... or when i reboot, it always wants to run chkdsk... off topic there, i have an 80gig seagate barracuda IV coming, with a mobile rack for my PC60... should be fun 🙂

I just flashed my bios to the 533 bios.. I got to Windows.... it feels good and fast.. but one problem.

My CD drives are not even there.

I reboot and when it is posting it says None for Secondary Master and Slave.

what the hell happened?
